May all beings everywhere be happy and free.

About my classes

Allow me to be your guide, as I walk you through a Slow Flow Vinyasa with heavy focus on connecting breath (prana) to our movements (asana), which is suitable for students of all levels, and draw upon the traditional Ashtanga Yoga (the 8 limbed path).  Each class brings an environment of stillness, allowing students to practice their cultivation of inner peace.  Sequences are intelligently crafted so that each pose builds upon the other (krama) as we move towards a specific peak pose. Turning inward throughout this meditative practice will gradually help us to gain control over external and internal distractions (vritti), which will allow us attain more peace.

All I ask is that you bring your presence, your mat, and an open mind, allowing the practice to work its magic.  Your practice doesn’t expect you to show up happy. It asks that you be present. It doesn’t mind if you are put together, or if you are a mess.  You can arrive with a jumbled mind and a heavy heart.  Your practice could care less if you can touch your toes or meditate for hours.  It asks simply, that you show up!

My aspiration is to plant the seed of yoga in as many people as possible and watch as it flourishes in differing ways for each individual. I seek to bring a diverse group of students together, building a community of acceptance and self-growth.  I encourage my students to practice gratitude for what their body has to offer them in each moment, as each moment is a gift. Upon the completion of each class, my hope is that you step off the mat feeling grounded, centered and balanced.  Through the consistent practice of yoga, my wish is that you will experience spiritual elevation and live in closer alignment with your authenticity and your true Self (Purusha).

About Me

My name is Elise Weiss and my love for yoga came at a time in my life when I undoubtedly needed it most. I was working in a large corporate setting, and much like my intense workdays, I was always looking for my next intense workout. Unbeknownst to me, I did not realize what I truly needed was to acquire the skills to slow down and calm my mind. Yoga led me down the path where I not only developed those skills but found a love, a passion, and a new way of visualizing and living life.
The transformative experience was that of mind, body and soul. With each passing day I continuously evolve into a happier and healthier version of myself. I have yoga to thank for the profound sense of gratitude I have for myself and all that surrounds me. As I continue to weave yogic philosophy and spiritual wisdom throughout my life, I wish to spread this knowledge to others so that they may embark on their own unique journey. Where will your yoga journey bring you?

“I love practicing with Elise! She pushes me to step outside of my comfort zone and I’ve surprised myself with things I’ve done that I wouldn’t have tried without her gentle encouragement!  She is a kind and very patient yoga instructor.  My only complaint is that I don’t get to practice with her as often as I’d like!”

–Rita Bergen

“Elise classes are energizing and fun, and I consider them an essential part of my week. They can be challenging or easy depending on how I feel. She lets you know how far to go in a pose if you have injuries/weaknesses, which is really helpful. She pays individual attention to people in the class and will re-position you to help you get that little extra from a pose. She is reliable and always shows up with a smile! Elise is an outstanding teacher and I can’t recommend her highly enough!”

–Bob Bates, Jr.

“Love this class! This class helps me relax and recenter while also working muscles I didn’t know I had. Elise is an excellent teacher, very patient and makes even the hard parts fun!”

–Regular student of 2 years

“Yoga with Elise has been so beneficial to my physical and mental health! As a preschool teacher, I’m constantly bending down, sitting in small furniture, and being pulled in a million different directions. Elise’s class is an opportunity for me to focus on myself and turn everything off, even if it’s only for an hour. Elise is calm, patient and an absolute joy to have as an instructor! I highly recommend her class.”

“I cannot say enough about Elise. Not only is she knowledgeable and easy to follow; she is sweet and an absolute joy to be around. Whatever your level, Elise will take your mind and body on a smooth and peaceful journey that is guaranteed to enhance your life. At 62, thanks in part to yoga and classes with Elise, I’m discovering my youthful body all over again.”

– Scott

“I was never one to think I could ever get into yoga as I am not really athletic or flexible. Rest assured, after one class with Elise I was hooked. Not only do I feel relaxed and regenerated after class, I can tell my body is changing as well – both on the inside and out. I love the journey she takes us on during class and would recommend to both beginners and advanced students alike.”

– Lauren

It’s easy to perceive how much thought and care that goes into each flow Elise curates. I always appreciate that I not only learn how to do each pose but also why I am doing it. She artfully blends dynamic movement, intentional breathing, and contemplative philosophy, all in one class. I look forward to learning from and with her as she embarks on this venture.”
